Google set to woo first time buyers through ‘Great Online Shopping Festival’

Google’s mega online shopping festival with over 450 partners returns for the third time in December. Partner brands will offer best deals for 72 hours this year. Aditya Birla Money My Universe has joined hands with GOSF this year as a preferred partner. In addition to the best deals, this year GOSF will also serve as a launchpad for products from leading brands like Motorola Nexus 6, HP, Lenovo, Tata Housing, Karbonn, Van Heusen, Asian Paints and great deals on exclusive designer collection from Pernia’s Pop Up Shop.

Focusing on the first time buyers, gosf.in will feature a special section with heavily discounted products with free shipping and cash on delivery option. The section is designed to excite first time buyers and will feature products and offers from leading brands like Philips, Uber, JBL, Benetton, Alia Bhatt collection, EverPure water purifier and free rewards from My Universe.

The initiative was launched by Google in 2012, and has seen tremendous response with most players seeing over 350 percent growth in daily sales. Last year, 2 million users visited gosf.in and over 16 million users visited across all partner sites including smaller players registering 2x growth on an average in their daily sales. Speaking about the momentum of online shopping in India, Rajan Anandan, VP & Managing Director, Google India said, “Great Online shopping festival is India’s version of cyber Monday and is an exciting platform to move the industry forward. The consumer confidence to shop online has grown considerably in the last 12 months, boosting the growth of both large multinational and homegrown companies. Our recent report projects that the Industry will continue to see robust growth in next few years making it a USD 15 billion industry by 2016.”
